Started cycling in 1959, mainly alone. Joined the Wheelers in 1969. Rode all distances from 5 miles to 24 hours including two national championships in 1979 and 1986, completing 425 and 420 miles respectively and numerous 12 hour events, always favouring the longer distances.

I have never really been able to get going at the shorter distances but did manage a personal best 25 of 1-3-04 at the age of 56. Also my personal best 50 is 2-11-12 set in 2002 at age 57.

I have held every official position in the club over the years except general secretary. Social secretary from 1980 to1984 and time trial racing secretary from 1980 to present day organising the club open 25s (two per year in early days) and in recent years the Rudy Project sporting courses event, the 2002 version being a national round.

Currently I am the Cycling Time Trials North Midlands District chairman and treasurer and have served on the committee for last seven years.
