My Aims for 2005 are:

  1. To get down to 75kg, and to float effortlessly up the big hills in Majorca, like Trevor does.
  2. To get 23+ minutes in a TT, or at least do better than Alan or Russ.
  3. To get to 1.05 in a 25m TT To laugh in the face of the grim reaper for another year.

I also enjoy: Mountain biking and rock climbing.

Why?

I managed to eat my way up to 95kg, tore a cartilage in my knee, and accidentally bought an entry-level road bike in 2002, aged 49.

What do I do?

I manage to squeeze in a paltry 8 hrs per week training average, between two jobs and having two children age 8 and 11. I try to make my training as high a quality as possible. Despite this, I have completed 6 road races with the LVRC, finishing with the main pack. I have reduced my 10 mile TT time by 1.5 minutes this season. It would be great if some more of the club members did some racing with the LVRC or Velo99. I have discovered if you are a bit crap, nobody minds, and you still get to enjoy it.
