Clothing
Depending on the type of event, various items of clothing are acceptable. The most common clothing for a cycling event is a short sleeved racing jersey and lycra shorts covering the upper thigh.
CTT regulations that competitors must be clothed from neck to at least mid thigh with mid upper arm length sleeves. In all events the official club clothing is permitted to be worn by first or second claim members of the club provided you wear the clothing of the club identified on you entry form. In all but club events, any clothing worn can only bear the name of the manufacturer or the club, any third party name or product is not permitted. In club events, such st an evening 10, competitors are permitted to wear any clothing they see fit including those containing advertising.
Having been passed at the 2003
CTT AGM, all riders under the age of 18 on January 1st have to wear an Approved Hardshell Helmet in all events promoted under
CTT Regulations for that year. At this time, CTT do not enforce competitors over the age of 18 on January 1st to wear either hard or soft shell helmets. Soft shell helmets are used for aerodynamic purposes and offer little in the way of impact protection. It is strongly recommended that competitors wear a suitable quality hard shell helmet such as Giro, Met or Bell.
