On
3rd October a large group of
Wheelers were joined by the likes of
Kevin Dawson and Mark Lovatt on a
weekend trip to the YHA Hostel at
Matlock. Fine sunny weather greeted
the riders who rode steadily to the
first stop for lunch at Sherwood
Pines.
This was followed by a meandering
route towards Matlock itself with a
last coffee stop. Here it was
decided that it was too early to
stop for the day so and extra ‘flat’
loop was suggested to finish of the
days mileage to around 100. More
Wheelers joined those who had ridden
to the hostel and after an evening
meal the local liquid refreshment
was sampled. Details of the next
days ride are somewhat sketchy due
to this sampling of liquid
refreshment but all agree that it
was a success and that the old
proverb had once again been proven
‘that there is no such thing as bad
beer…just indifferent’
